Silver Spring, MD, Oct 9, 2019 — With $3 million in new funding and an executive hire with domain expertise in developing, and expanding SaaS market data platforms, Maryland-based Mercaris is enhancing its capabilities to provide companies with robust data and analytics around the organic and non-GMO commodity and ingredients markets.

Mercaris announced today the addition of a new role and new member of the executive management team. Under the direction of Chief Revenue Officer Tatum Smigelski, Mercaris is poised to expand its industry-leading suite of information services and tools to provide cutting edge intelligence that can be used to support strategic planning, risk management, and procurement needs.

Before coming to Mercaris, Tatum held several leadership roles at Refinitiv (formerly the Financial & Risk Business of Thomson Reuters), a market data vendor providing insights and trading platforms to the global financial community. Drawing from her nearly two decades of experience, Smigelski will direct Mercaris’ strategy and execution, and lead efforts in customer acquisition and partner collaboration.

Tatum was awarded WISA (Women Sales Awards) North America: Best Women Sales Capability Manager in 2018 for achievements in influencing culture change, diversity & inclusion, leadership, and mentorship. She holds a BS in Aviation and Meteorology from Ohio University.
